Cheap Money

24 01 2010

Read: Matthew 25:24-30

“Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:”

How does a person or leader make his resources (specially his money) cheap? In our text we can see three points:

1.Wrong view- he has the wrong view of his master. He accused him of being harsh or hard man but in fact the master is not. Check a few verses back and you will see that the master is kind. God gave us resources that will of much use for us. But if we have a wrong view of God no matter how valuable it is it will be a waste if we made this error.

2.Wrong reaction-his reaction being afraid is of prejudice.

3.Wrong move-and because of the wrong view and reaction, comes a wrong move to “invest” of what is given to him. For us it could be our talents or possession, but it will become cheap if we don’t have a right perspective of God.

All along our talents or possession can be cheap if we don’t have a right view of God. We may spend it in a profitable or even a noble way but if God is not in there it wont matter at all. How do we have a right view of God so that what we have is precious not only in the sight of men but of God?

1.Get right with Him. Be saved.

2.Surrender your life to Him.

3.Read the Bible to have a view of God.

4.Ask God to lead you what your talents or resources will be at use for His kingdom. After all, all you have is His.
